rimher: You sure? I think that the bass on that song is played by Alain Johannes (who has Paul McCartney-style bass btw…awesome!) You’re totally right about Alain with the Hofner bass.  I got the skinny on that thing, though. It’s made by a UK builder called Hugh Manson and it’s got a Korg “XY” midi contoller on it (the screen) and has some bass strings on it as well: Apparently there are levers that allow you to change open tuning really quick as well. It’s a lap steel designed to be able to play while standing up (which is why it looks so funky to me) as opposed to just playing slide guitar. CRAZY
